Taking a Walk

Have you ever walked through your neighborhood and really looked around? I did today. Every time I go outside of my apartment area there is this house next door that has the most incredible front yard. The walkway is shaped like a tunnel. When you are going through this part it is like going from your world into another. There are all kinds of trees and plants when you go through this little pathway. Just take a look for yourself................

I love these flowers. It is on a tree and every time I pass this tree the flower on it reminds me of Hawaii and the flowers smell incredible. The other picture is of a cactus in the yard. Its totally crazy!!

After I turn the corner there are of course other house to look at that are big and beautiful that remind me of New Orleans canal street houses. I love it. In the middle of the houses is this walkway of trees and grass. I loved it so much I took off my sandals and let the cool grass hit my feet, walked slow and relaxed. Rocky did pull every now and then to let me know to speed up a little bit.

We also found this little park that the great city of Houston made for the people of the area. I had a great time exploring and the park was so nice. It is a great time of the year where there are butterflies. I saw one but was to slow to take a snap of it. You can just imagine.

There is also a nice place to sit and rock. It was a bit unstable looking but when you take a seat it is nice and sturdy, it was just rained on quite a bit. If you are ever having a bad day and need a place to just unwind and forget about all the problems that you are having, I would guess that this would be my place to come and relax. If you were there with me you would pick this place too. I loved it.

After all of that fantasy and relaxing I turn the corner and see this.......The fun is over....back to reality......

New Orleans visit

My favorite town in all the world is new orleans. I wasn't born there but I was raised there so I still consider it my town. The best thing about it now is that my brother and his wife live there now. When my mom died of course I was sad but then I thought that I wouldn't have an excuse to go there and visit anymore but then they moved right into the french quarter.
This is a picture of my brother's pool on top of their apartment. It was cloudy but we went up and hung out anyway. I hung out a little too much and got sunburn on my scalp and nose. It hurts so wear the sunscreen if you can. This is a really good place to eat and the great thing about New Orleans is that you can even bring your dog to eat with you. Look closly at the dog in the picture. Classic!!

We also went to the Jazz fest. There was all this good food and music. It was my first time at the Jazzfest. I ate some good poboys and walked around and saw a lot of great things that reminded me of when I used to live there. It made me miss the town so bad and secretly wish I lived there again. After a while my sunburnt head that I had gotten the day before was getting worse and I had to leave early. I went back to the apartment and slept and dreamed that I lived in New Orleans again.

At the end of the week we all went out to eat at the famous Coupland's. They redid the place and it looked great. I was a little doubtful that the food was going to be good but it was better that I remembered. I had a little steak and of course I had my favorite red beans and rice. It was a great dinner and great closer to the trip. This is my lovely brother that I love and miss every day but i remember that I can always go and visit him. There was this other thing that I thought was evtremly funny. My brother tried to get his wife to eat a stuffed mushroom and she tried it because of him but she didn't like it very much but she tried it just becuase he asked. What a good wife haha!
